INTRODUCTION
The Annapurna Region in central Nepal is the most geographically and culturally diverse region for trekking. Over 2,500 trekkers visit the Annapurna Sanctuary region yearly. The Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) working along with the National Trust for Nature Conservation (NTNC) has declared this region as area of
conservation and sustainable development. Stretched over 2600 sq. km., the area boasts of a variety of diverse cultures, tribes and castes as the Brahmins, Chettris, Newars, Gurungs, Magars, Manangis and the Tibetans. This area has sub-tropical lowlands, valleys, bamboo, oak and rhododendron forests, alpine meadows, windswept desert
plateaus and the towering Annapurna Mountains. This area has the world's deepest river gorge, Kali Gandaki, lying some 6900-metres/22,563 ft. below some of the world’s largest and most beautiful mountains as the Annapurna I
(world's 8 th highest) & Fishtail (one of the most beautiful). Animals and birds are in abundance in this region. 440 species of birds and animals like the marten, deer, langur and the elusive snow leopard live in this area.

Itinerary In Detail

  • 1: Arrival in Kathmandu & Drive to Kurintar(10km/3&½ hrs.)

    Upon Arrival in Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan international  Airport, Meet, assist and start drive to Kurintar. Upon arrival in at hotel.

    Dinner and overnight at hotel.

     

  • 2: Drive to Chame (2,723m/8,900ft.) - 145Km/7-8 hrs.

    After breakfast, check out and start drive to Chame. From Kurintar it takes around 3 hours to Besi Sahar(823m) which is the main town of Lamjung district.

    From Bashisahar continue drive to Chame through the unpaved Mountain mostly following the Myarshyandi River En-route stop at Dharapani Village for lunch. Drive is difficult though beaut iful as we pass through several villages and beautiful water falls.

  • 3: Trek to Upper Pisang (3,240m/10,630ft) - 6 hours

    We walk along the river to reach the village of Bratang (2919m), mainly populated by Tibetans. Here we stop to have a hearty Lunch. On the way Brantang we pass through a splendid pine forest with splen did\ views of Lamjung and Annapurna I and IV.

    After lunch It’s about two hours walk to reach the top, where trekkers traditionally used to plant a pine sapling, not only to establish that they have made it to top, but also to contribute to the reforestation of the area. From here we have main trail and cross Myarshyandi River in a wodden bridge. From here we climb gently towards village of Upper Pishang.

  • 4: Trek to Manang via Nagwal (3,530m/11,580ft) - 6~7 hours.

    After breakfast trek follow the upper trail towards Ghyaru village, whch is typical Tibetan village in Manang, from here continues to Nagwal Village for lunch. After lunch descend to ancine Bagra village. Trek is very scenic as we get to see the beautiful view of the Annapurnas II and IV (7555m and 7525m) to the left, East and West Chulus (6584, and 6419m) on the right,  toward the horizon there are views of highest peak of Mount Thorung (6481m) and to the east, the crown of Mount Pisang. From Nagwal village we descend to ancient village of Braga (3505m). We can take time to wander around Braga to see this picturesque village with its flat roofed houses and to visit the Gampa, not only the largest in the region but also the richest with its fine collection of Thangkas (religious scroll paintings) and prayer books. It takes only forty-five minutes to reach Manang  from here, which sits on the plateau of 3530m.

  • 5: Day trek to Kicho Tal "Ice Lake" (4,620m/ 12,283ft.) - 8~9 hours.

    After early breakfast start a long day trek to Kicho Tal with pack lunch, which is commonly popular as Ice Lake. This is high alpine lake in the Manang valley situated at an elevation of 4,620m / 12,283 ft. Due to its high elevation this often frozen.
    Later in the afternoon, return back to Manang.

  • 6: Trek to Tilicho Base Camp (4,150m / 13,612 ft.) - 5~6 hours.

    After lunch start trek to Tilicho Base Camp, trail goes downhill to a chorten, then turn northwest and heads down towards the river. Stay on a north bank and head west, following a trail alongside the river. Follow the power lines along the ridge on a wide trail, then traverse along the south side of the ridge through a blue pine forest and cross the suspension bridge then climbs to meet the ridge until we reach of Khangsar village. Khangsar is collection of traditional building surrounding a large village square. The top storey of each house been whitewashed, but a complex web of power lines detracts somewhat from the picturesque aspect of the village. Beyond Khangsar, the trail climb steeply to a small chorten, then climbs more gently through the juniper and seas buchthorn buses to a Shree Kharka at an altitude of 3,850m / 12,628 ft. We stop here for lunch.

    After lunch continue towards Tilicho Base Camp, from here trail travers into a side valley, cross a suspension bridge over a stream and climb to some herder’s huts and a trail junction at 4,050m. The high trail to Tilicho Base Camp leads to the right and low trail leads towards left. Usually trekkers use low trail to Tilicho Base Camp.

  • 7: Climb to Tilicho Lake (4,910m / 16,104 ft. ) & backtrack to Shree Kharka - 7~8 hrs.

    The trail to Tilicho Tai starts up a valley. Then, traverses into a moraine making a long climb to 4710m. There are outstanding views of Khangsar Kang, Tarke Kang, ang Gangapurna as well as great views down the valley to Manang and Upper Pisang. The trail then makes a series of steep switchbacks, climbing for an hour to a false summit and on the crest at 5010m. From here to the lake the trail is lined with hundreds of large stone slabs set on end. Passing two lakes, the trail crest at a cairn and prayer flags where one will have their first view of the Lake (4920m), 4 Km long and 2.5 Km wide. It is the lake situated at the highest place on the earth. After visiting Tilicho Lake, descend down the Base Camp for lunch. After lunch start backtrack to Shree Kharka.

  • 8: Backtrack to Manang (2 hrs.) and drive to Besisahar.

    After breakfast start trek down to Manang via Khangsar. Upon arrival in Manang get into the waiting vehicle and start drive to Besisahar which may take 5~6 hrs. depending on road condition.
    Dinner and overnight at hotel.

     

  • 9: Drive back to Kathmandu - 177km/ 5~6 hrs.

    After breakfast, start drive to Kathmandu. Upon arrival check in at hotel for rest and refreshment. Rest of the day is for leisure.
    Overnight at hotel.

  • 10: Final departure from Kathmandu

    Free until final departure transfer to Kathmandu’s International Airport.

8. Comprehensive Travel Insurance or “Umbrella Insurance” to cover – Illness, hospitalization, travel medicines, loss of valuables, thefts change of itinerary, flight and tour cancellations due to unavoidable circumstances and most of all Emergency Helicopter Charter for evacuation.
