Bhutan a purely Buddhist Himalayan Kingdom is unsurpassed in its scenic majesty and vibrant culture. The kingdom shares with Nepal the world’s greatest concentration of Mountains and living heritage of Buddhism. The fifty minutes flight from Kathmandu to Paro can truly be described as a flight into fantasy. During the flight a firsthand close up view of Mt. Everest, Mt. Kanchenjunga and many other famous Peaks become a reality. Daily flights between these two Countries have made travel easier to the long isolated Dragon Kingdom of Bhutan.

The tour cost is inclusive of all airport transfers, conducted sightseeing tours, full board at hotels and during treks on the twin-bed-sharing-basis. There are direct flights from Delhi and Bangkok and tours can be planned accordingly. Bhutan is one of the few countries in the world still untouched. A paradise for tourist interested in Buddhist culture and philosophy, flora and fauna, trekking, white water rafting, Motor Biking and Mountain biking.

Itinerary In Detail

  • Day 01: Arrival in  Paro (By Flight) – 2,230 m / 7,314 ft.

    The flight offers you beautiful view of mountains and landscapes. On arrival and after visa formalities you will be received by our Representative and transfer to Hotel/Resort. If time permits proceed for sightseeing or Relax as per client’s wish.

    Dinner and overnight at hotel.  

  • Day 02: Hike to Taktsang Monastery also known as "Tiger's Nest" - 3,200m / 10,500ft. 

    Day hike to Taktshang monastery (Tiger’s Nest). The hike, which is all uphill, takes about 3 to 4 hours through pine forests. The monastery clings to a huge granite cliff 800 meters above the Paro valley. It is believed that the great saint Guru Padmasambhava came in the 07th Century on a flying tigress and mediated there for 3 Months. The demons who were trying to stop the spread of Buddhism were subdued and converted the Paro valley into Buddhism. At the end of the 17th Century, a monastery was built on the spot where the saint meditated .It is an important pilgrimage site for all Buddhist.

  • Day 03: Paro Sightseeing and drive to Thimphu (54 Km / 1&1/2 hrs.) – 2,248 m / 7,380 ft.

    After Breakfast, proceed through the beautiful valley to the watch tower or locally known as Ta-Dzong.  It was housed into the National museum in the 1960s by the third King JigmeDorji Wangchuckbut due to renovation it’s closed and the museum has been shifted to a temporary place nearby. Precede short downhill walk to RinpungDzong (Paro Dzong) and walk further down through a traditional Cantilever Bridge where your vehicle will be waiting for you. Visit around Paro Town till lunch time and lunch at Kichu Resort. After Lunch visit Dzongdrakha Goemba often called as mini Takstang. Dzongdrakha is a cliff-side temple complex on the western side of the Paro Valley.  Four shrines make up the complex, dedicated to Drolma (Tara), Tsheringma (Goddess of Longevity), Guru Rinpoche and the Buddha of the Future, Maitreya.  Later drive to ThimphuAmanKora for lunch. After lunch proceed for a sightseeing tour of Tashichhodzong, the beautiful medieval fortress/monastery which houses most of the Government’s office and King’s Throne room. Please note Tashichhodzone is also the summer residence of Je Khenpo, the Chief Abbot. Later continue to Aman.

    Dinner and overnight at hotel.  

  • Day 04: Drive to Punakha (1,310 m / 4,296.00 ft.) via Dachu la pass – 85 km / 3&1/2 hrs.

    After breakfast, drive 3 hours to Punakha crossing the Dochula pass at 3,100 m / 10,168 ft. On fine weather you will see the eastern Himalayan ranges including the highest mountain in Bhutan, Mt.Gangar Punsum 7520 meters. The drive from the pass is all downhill dropping to the lower and warmer valleys of Lobesa. Continue to AmanKora for lunch.

    After lunch and some rest proceed for a sightseeing tour of famed Punakha Dzong which served as an old capital of Bhutan. This remarkable fortress is built between two rivers and has survived many glacial floods and fire. Every year during the month of February a procession known as the Punakha Serda takes place to commemorate the victory over the Tibetans. Later continue to AmanKora. Rest of the day is free for leisure.

  • Day 05: Drive to Phobjica Valley (3,000 m / 9,840 ft.) – 70 km / 3hrs.

    After breakfasr drive to Gangtey Gompa valley at an altitude of 2800 meters. The only Nyingmapa monastery in western Bhutan is located here. This beautiful valley is also home to the rare Black Necked Cranes migrating from the Tibetan plateau to escape the harsh winter. Black Necked Cranes arrive Bhutan by 1st or 2nd week on November every year.  The Royal Society for Protection of Nature (RSPN) is taking every measure to ensure the safety of the Cranes. While the cranes reside in the winter valley for 4/5 months the village folks are not allowed to make loud noises or fish in the river that runs through the valley. After lunch hike around the stroll around the beautiful Phobjica Valley.

    Dinner and overnight at Aman Kora.

  • Day 06: Drive back to Paro (2,230 m / 7,314 ft.) – 209km / 7~8 hrs.

    After breakfast start return drive to Paro via Punakha and Thimphu City. En-route stop at Aman for lunch. Rest of the day is free for leisure.

  • Day 07: Final departure

    Free till final departure transfer to Paro International Airport.
